- Companies Are Investing in Bitcoin
While bitcoin is mostly talked about among individual investors, they’re certainly not the only ones with their eyes on the currency. Many large corporations are starting to invest in Bitcoin to earn extra cash for their business operations. MicroStrategy, a business intelligence firm led by CEO Michael Saylor, made headlines with its significant investment in Bitcoin. The company has converted a substantial portion of its treasury reserves into Bitcoin and continues to hold the cryptocurrency as part of its corporate strategy. Tesla, the electric vehicle and clean energy company founded by Elon Musk, announced in early 2021 that it had invested $1.5 billion in Bitcoin and planned to accept the cryptocurrency as a form of payment for its products. Square, the financial services and mobile payment company led by CEO Jack Dorsey, has invested in Bitcoin through its Cash App. Galaxy Digital Holdings, founded by billionaire investor Mike Novogratz, is a financial services firm focused on digital assets and blockchain technology. The company has made investments in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and provides services such as trading, asset management, and investment banking in the cryptocurrency space.
